This is not my first blog. This is not my second blog. This is not my fifth or my tenth either. I have started and abandoned at least a baker’s dozen in the last decade. Some lasted for a month or two, others for a single post, some for even less than that. I guess I just plain enjoy making the damned things, but feel no real loyalty or dedication to keep going.
I realize that this very blog might very well end the same. I always start out strong, with a solid idea and a desire to follow through. The real test comes somewhere around the two week mark. If I haven’t abandoned it by then, there might be hope. If not… Well, I’ve just contributed one more plastic wrapper or styrofoam cup to the landfill of history we call the internet.
So what is the point of this one? What is the goal of this attempt to claim a small corner of the collective semiconsciousness called the web? Simple. Privacy. I want a place to post up the fruits of my latest editing process. Maybe some short stories too. Possibly even some of my weird-ass poetry. We’ll have to see. Either way, I should have at least copies of my novel’s chapters as they go through my current (phase 2) editing process. Some will be public. Others will only be visible to certain folks. Assuming I can figure out how to do that!
